Saturday Study Skills is for students in primary to grade six and offers an interactive & age-appropriate curriculum for kids in grade primary-6. Our lessons are planned with the intention of clarifying and reinforcing school routines and practices in a safe and supportive environment. One of the main goals of the program is for students to feel empowered to ask questions and have a better understanding of, and comfort level with, the classroom setting while adjusting to life in Canada. The program has been successful in providing an extra support and resource to newcomer parents that empower them to better understand their children’s needs and become more involved in their education. 
Currently, the program is offered September through June, every Saturday morning, at two different locations:  
YMCA Centre for Immigrant Programs: 104-7071 Bayers Road, Fairview  
Community YMCA: 2269 Gottingen Street, Downtown Halifax
