SPELL
(Sector Partnerships for Enhanced Language Learning)

Enhanced English workplace communication is offered province-wide through partnerships with organizations and companies. While our main focus is on international nurses working in the long-term care sector, the program has been expanded to include the food processing and manufacturing sectors.  Delivered online, the program develops speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills that are workplace specific and based on the Canadian Language Benchmarks. Role-play, class discussions, breakout room interactions, and individual assignments sharpen and develop essential Canadian healthcare communication. Learners develop confidence, fluency, and awareness of verbal and non-verbal Canadian communication practices.
